Current Aftermath of Taiwan earthquake: 1 dead, 79 injured

Wreckage removal and damage assessment efforts have revealed the current aftermath of the 6.9 magnitude earthquake in Taiwan as 1 dead and 79 injured. Many casualties were rescued from various wrecked buildings. The Gaoliao, Luntien and Yuli bridges in Hualien city were severely damaged by the tremor. Search and rescue teams rescued 3 citizens stuck in Gaoliao Bridge and sent them to a hospital.

Yuli, Taipei, Tainan and Kaohsiung cities are struggling with power cuts.

A block of concrete collapsing on a train in Dongli Station resulted in 6 wagons to be wrecked. Fortunately, the 20 passengers in the train were rescued. 4,000 tourists were rescued from the mountain Chike after getting stuck because of a landslide.

The country panicked after being hit by another earthquake with 6.8 magnitude at 10:04 local time. Authorities warned the citizens about the ongoing aftershocks that may reoccur in the upcoming days.
