Cyclone Freddy, which is effective in eastern Africa, reached Malawi today after making landfall in Mozambique yesterday. According to the police, at least 11 people were dead and more than 16 were missing in Malawi’s Blantyre region as a result of the cyclone.
Malawi Police Spokesperson Peter Kalaya stated that search efforts are continuing, with Chilobwe and Ndirande being the most seriously hit locations.
