Cyclone kills boy in Myanmar

Cyclone Mocha, which started at 13:00 local time in the coastal areas of Myanmar and Bangladesh, caused heavy rain and flooding. A 14-year-old boy died when a tree fell on him in Myanmar’s Rakhine state.

At least 100,000 people in Myanmar’s Rakhine state had been moved to safer areas before the storm, the United Nations Relief Office said in a statement. Disaster Relief official Mijanur Rahman said that about 300,000 people were evacuated to safe areas in Bangladesh.
