cyclone kompasu hits northern philippines, killing 9

At least 9 people were killed and 11 others gone missing due to floods and landslides after tropical cyclone Kopmasu hit Philippines, the national disaster agency said. The wind speed reached 100 kilometers per hour as it moved away from the north of the country. Four people were killed in the landslides in Benguet province, and 5 others were in Palawan province. More than 1,600 people were evacuated. Search and rescue efforts continue to find the missing people.
