Hundreds of Czech farmers who protest agricultural policies, disrupted traffic with their tractors and dumped animal manure in front of Government Office in Prague.
“I respect everyone’s right to protest and I am ready for a fair negotiation with farmers. I expect an honest approach from the organizers, who promise not to hinder traffic in Prague, including public transport. I do not see the throwing manure on the tram tracks as such an approach,” said Minister of Agriculture Marek Vyborny, on social media.
The Czech Chamber of Agriculture calls for lowering property taxes for agricultural land, supporting employment in farming, removing restrictions imposed by the EU’s Green Deal plan to combat climate change, and ending unfair competition with imported products, especially from Ukraine.
