Damascus International Airport to Reopen on December 18

Preparations are underway at Damascus International Airport, which was closed on December 8 when the Bashar Assad regime was overthrown in Syria and is planned to be reopened on December 18.

“Everything is fine. We are checking all the systems on the plane. The plane is ready to fly soon, God willing. Our maintenance, flight operations and ground services departments are working together. Everything is progressing rapidly. God willing, we will open the airport soon. For now, I think we will start with domestic flights,” said Syrian Airlines Aircraft Maintenance Manager Samer Radi, also mentioning that he expects international flights to begin later.
