Damascus Palace Silent After Regime Overthrow

Following the overthrow of the Assad regime in Syria, the Presidential Palace in Damascus has fallen silent, symbolizing the country’s transition period.

Opposition forces now control the capital and have taken charge of the palace, which had been looted before their arrival. Soldiers are cleaning and securing the premises, with checkpoints established at all entrances and exits. The palace is reportedly being prepared for the incoming administration as celebrations in the city continue.
