Danube River in Romania drops multi-year low amid drought

The Romanian side of the Danube has completely dried up near the southern Romanian town of Zimnicea, which is separated from Bulgaria by the river, while the Bulgarian side is barely passable. The exposed Danube riverbed has turned into a wide sandy beach, which has begun to attract local residents.

The Danube River is Europe’s second longest river.
