Chlorine gas leak from old gas cylinder killed 2 people and poisoned 29 others in an ironworks in the city of Culiacan in the Mexican state of Sinaloa. Five children, 2 paramedics, 1 firefighter, and 1 police officer were among those poisoned, officials stated. A large number of paramedics and civil defense teams were dispatched to the scene. Police teams involved in the evacuation were washed with pressurized water to ensure that no chlorine gas residues remained on their uniforms.
