Death toll from California floods and landslides rises to 14

The California Governor’s Emergency Services announced that 14 people died as a result of the severe storm and flooding that hit the US state of California. The highway was closed in both directions due to a landslide caused by heavy rains in Santa Cruz, and a highway bridge over the river collapsed. According to the fire department’s statement, 18 people who were stranded as a result of the Ventura River flooding were rescued.
Heavy rains are expected to continue today and tomorrow in California, where 140,000 homes and businesses are without power.
