Death Toll from Floods and Landslides Climbs to 22 in China

The number of deaths and injuries increases in China as the devastation caused by Typhoon Gaemi deepens. Three people died in Chenzhou, Hunan province, where floods and landslides occurred after heavy rainfall, and 4 others died in Zixing, where three people are still missing and more than 11,000 people have been evacuated from their homes. Authorities said the total number of deaths in the country has risen to 22.

Heavy rain is also expected today in the capital, Beijing and neighboring Hebei and Tianjin, as well as in Guangdong, Guangxi, Yunnan, Guizhou, Sichuan, Hubei and Hunan.
