The death toll from the landslide that occurred near a mining site in Davao de Oro province in the southern Philippines last Tuesday, leaving many mine workers buried under the ground, increased to 37. The rescue efforts continue for 63 missing people but authorities state that their hopes are fading. Thirty-two casualties are being treated at hospitals.
The area, where more than 300 people are searching for the casualties, is receiving heavy rain and is under threat of a new landslide.
