The number of recovered bodies rose to 71 after a migrant boat sank off the coast of Syria after leaving Lebanon, Lebanese Transport Minister Ali Hamiye announced. The Syrian Ministry of Transport said 20 people were rescued, including 12 Syrians, 5 Lebanese, and 3 Palestinians.
According to survivors, the boat left the Minyeh region of Lebanon on Tuesday with between 120 and 150 people bound for Europe.
