Iranian authorities said the death toll from a coal mine explosion in South Khorasan province has risen to 52.
A three-day mourning period was declared in the province.
“This accident has deeply affected us all. It is saddening that such accidents are happening again. As the parliament, it is our priority to identify those responsible and those who were negligent,” Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Ghalibaf said in a post on social media.
