Death Toll from Philippine Storm Trami Rises to 116

 

The death toll from Tropical Storm Trami in the Philippines has climbed to 116, with 39 people still missing, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC). Affecting over 6.7 million people across 17 regions, the storm triggered severe floods and landslides, damaging infrastructure and cutting off power and water supplies in several areas. Although the storm has subsided, around 1 million people remain displaced in shelters or with relatives, while initial damage estimates show losses of $26.35 million in infrastructure and $43 million in agriculture.
