Tanzania Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa addressed Parliament about the ongoing heavy rains and resulting floods and landslides, attributed to the El Nino weather phenomenon. He reported 155 fatalities, 236 injuries, and significant damage to infrastructure affecting over 200 thousand people and 51 thousand houses. Majaliwa urged residents in low-lying areas to relocate to safer zones and called for regional officials to provide aid to flood-affected individuals.
