Death toll reaches 53 in collapsed 8-storey apartment in China

The death toll is increasing in the 8-storey apartment that collapsed for an unknown reason on April 29 in the Wangcheng District of Changsha city in China’s Hunan province. The local government announced that after days of rescue efforts, the total number of people who lost their lives increased to 53. Local government also stated that all the people who were under the rubble were reached, and the search and rescue efforts had ended.

On the other hand, 10 people were rescued alive from the rubbles of the collapsed apartment 132 hours after the incident. While the cause of the building collapse is still unknown, 9 people had been arrested in connection with the incident.
