Death Toll Rises to 11 in Japan’s Ishikawa Floods

The death toll from the floods and landslides triggered by heavy rains in Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan, has risen to 11. Local authorities confirmed the discovery of two more bodies, while 12 others have been reported injured. Rescue teams, consisting of approximately 430 personnel from the police, fire department, and Japan’s Self-Defense Forces (SDF), are continuing their search for six missing individuals.

The severe rains over the weekend have caused widespread damage, prompting the temporary suspension of education in the city of Wajima. Classes have now resumed in all primary and secondary schools.
