Death Toll Rises to 11 in Thailand–Cambodia Border Clashes

Renewed fighting along the Thailand–Cambodia border has left at least 11 people dead. Cambodia reported seven civilian deaths and over 21,000 evacuees, while Thailand confirmed four soldiers killed, 18 wounded, and more than 430,000 residents displaced.

Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul ruled out talks, saying Thailand aims to “disable Cambodia’s military capacity.” Cambodia’s Senate President Hun Sen said they were forced to retaliate to defend their territory.

US President Donald Trump and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres urged both sides to restore the ceasefire signed last year. The clashes resumed after Thailand launched airstrikes in response to an attack on its soldiers.
