The death toll from a recent train derailment in Pakistan has risen from 22 to 30, with some passengers still trapped inside the carriages. The accident involved a passenger train travelling from Karachi to Rawalpindi. Early investigations show that the train was moving at a normal speed, and the cause of the derailment is being examined. The accident took place near Nawabshah city in the Sindh province. This follows a 2021 incident in the same province where a train accident killed 56 people and injured over 100.
