Death Toll Rises to 43 in Thailand After Typhoon Yagi

 

The death toll in Thailand from floods and landslides triggered by heavy monsoon rains and Typhoon Yagi has reached 43, with 24 others injured. Chaiwat Chuntirapong, Director of Thailand’s Disaster Prevention Department (DDPM), confirmed the updated figures, adding that approximately 133,000 people have been affected over the past month.

In response to the disasters, authorities have evacuated citizens from flood-hit areas to emergency shelters set up in safer regions. Rescue efforts are ongoing, with the Thai Navy and various aid organizations deploying air, land, and sea units to provide full support.

Efforts to assist affected communities continue as authorities assess the extent of the damage.
