The death toll from floods and landslides caused by heavy rains in Japan’s Ishikawa Prefecture has risen to 7, with search efforts ongoing for 6 missing people. Local authorities, supported by the Japan Self-Defense Forces (SDF), continue rescue operations in the hardest-hit areas.
Water outages are affecting 5,000 households, while 3,500 homes remain without power. Debris removal has reduced the number of inaccessible homes from 115 to 56. Due to the severe conditions, all primary and secondary schools in Wajima, one of the worst-hit regions, will be closed for the next two days.
