On International Women’s Day, various women’s rights organizations demonstrated in Manila, Philippines. Protesters demanded equal pay and job opportunities, better access to public services and freedom from political harassment. During the demonstration, protesters distributed roses and bread as a symbol of unity.
Additionally, the topic of IWD 2023 is ‘DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality’. According to the United Nations, 37% of women worldwide do not use the internet, resulting in a digital gender gap that worsens economic and social inequality.
