Thousands of people continue to show support for Palestine in Paris, the capital of France. In a demonstration that started yesterday at Republique Square with the call of labor unions and left-wing parties, Palestinian supporters chanted anti-war slogans and accused French President Emmanuel Macron of collaborating with Israel. Meanwhile, some groups in the demonstration slammed the deportation of Palestinian activist Meryem Abu Dhaka, who was detained in France.
The French Ministry of Internal Affairs, which had previously not allowed demonstrations in support of Palestine in France, allowed today’s demonstration, and fewer police units were dispatched to the area.
