Troels Lund Poulsen said Denmark has proposed the creation of a NATO mission in Greenland and the Arctic region. Poulsen and Vivian Motzfeldt raised the proposal during talks with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte in Brussels. “We made such a proposal, and I hope we can now create a framework to implement it,” Poulsen said. The talks come as Donald Trump increases political and economic pressure over Greenland, an autonomous territory of Denmark. Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen warned that any attempt to seize Greenland would mark the end of NATO.
