Dipsiz Lake: A Natural Wonder in Türkiye’s Mountains

Dipsiz Lake, located in Gümüşhane, Türkiye, at an altitude of 2,200 meters (7,218 feet), offers stunning springtime views and is surrounded by 10 other lakes. Just a 25-minute drive from Gümüşhane city center, this picturesque spot attracts nature lovers and photographers.

Fed by snow, rain, and spring water, Dipsiz Lake is named after a legend where cattle sank and vanished in its depths. The area is home to other lakes, including Aygır Lake and Kuru Lakes, earning it the nickname “the second lakes region” of Gümüşhane after the famous Artabel Lakes Nature Park.

Dörtkonak also features historical lignite coal mines and 190-million-year-old rock fossils, making it a significant tourism and cultural destination. Visitors can explore its rich history, scenic lakes, fossil beds, and natural wells.
