Disabled Artist Turns Waste Into Art in Türkiye

Aziz Harmancı, a speech- and hearing-impaired artist living in Hakkari province in eastern Türkiye, makes miniature houses and figures using recycled waste materials. Despite his disabilities, Harmancı transforms discarded household items into detailed artworks that have drawn local admiration and raised awareness about recycling.

A married father of four, Harmancı sells his creations to support his children’s education, showing how art can provide both income and purpose.
