dismissed Turkish workers protest German company

Nearly 200 workers, mostly Turkish citizens, who claim being unfairly dismissed by Borbet Wheels company have been demonstrating for 14 days in Solingen, Germany. The workers of the company, which the declared bankruptcy for the Solingen branch and dismissed 650 workers, are protesting in front of the workplace between 13.00 and 14.00 every day to seek their rights, claiming that the bankruptcy is unlawful.

Stating that they begin the new year unemployed, workplace worker representative Halit Bıçakçı said, “They spread our production to other companies and it resulted in downsizing. They tried saving the company, but they deliberately led the it to closure. They kicked us out without giving a penny, we want our compensation.”
