The ruins of the 2,800-year-old Tabal Kingdom Ancient City, located atop Göllüdağ in Niğde, Türkiye, were recently captured by drone. Discovered by chance in 1932 and first excavated in 1933, the city dates back to the Late Hittite period and once dominated the region as a city-state.
The site features a defensive wall system, three main gates, and remains of a city structure up to 5 meters high. Among its notable finds are lion statues, including a double-headed lion from 1934 excavations, now displayed at the Niğde Museum. This historic site continues to attract archaeological interest and public fascination.
