Drone Footage Captures Aftermath of Türkiye Wildfire

 

A wildfire that began in the grasslands of Ankara’s Kızılcahamam district on August 21st and spread to the forests of Bolu’s Gerede district has caused significant damage, as seen in drone footage. The fire, which started near Şahinler Neighborhood, led to the evacuation of vulnerable residents, including the elderly, women, children, and the disabled, from the affected areas of Kavacık, Demirler, and Berçinçatak. By morning, the extent of the devastation was revealed, with large swathes of forest, highland houses, and Berçinçatak Highland reduced to ashes. The aerial footage highlights the scale of the destruction as firefighting and cooling efforts continue.
