Drought Reveals Submerged Bridge in Kırklareli, Türkiye

The Çağlayan Bridge, previously submerged due to the construction of the Kırklareli Dam in 1996, has resurfaced following a significant drop in the dam’s water level. This bridge plays a crucial role in providing transportation for villagers in the Balkan region of Türkiye, and granting access to Kırklareli. The recent drought has uncovered the bridge, rekindling its importance among local residents who recall its significance as a vital transportation link in the past.

According to local authorities, a substantial decrease in water levels across 14 dams in the Edirne, Kırklareli, and Tekirdağ provinces, with an occupancy rate plummeting to 34%.
