Duterte Transferred to ICC for Crimes Against Humanity Trial

Former Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte has been taken to The Hague, Netherlands, to stand trial at the International Criminal Court (ICC) on charges of crimes against humanity related to his war on drugs.

Duterte was detained at Manila’s Ninoy Aquino International Airport upon his return from Hong Kong, following an ICC request. The court confirmed his transfer after his plane landed in Rotterdam. He is expected to appear before a judge in the coming days.
