Early Autumn Colors Cover Northeast Türkiye

Zekerya village in Artvin’s Ardanuç district, located between 2,400 and 3,000 meters above sea level, experiences autumn earlier than other parts of Türkiye. While temperatures in eastern Türkiye can reach 40°C, the leaves in this Black Sea region village begin to turn yellow, creating a vibrant display of fall colors.

Erhan Altuntaş, a local resident, explained that the high altitude causes the leaves to change color earlier than in other areas. “Many people now visit our village for autumn photos after we were featured in the news last year,” he said. Another villager, Ahmet Pehlevan, added, “Despite the challenging geography, the beauty of our village makes it all worthwhile.”

Zekerya village has gained increasing attention from nature photographers and visitors, who come to capture the early signs of autumn in this scenic part of Türkiye.
