In the aftermath of devastating earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş, Türkiye, buildings, including thousands in Elbistan district, suffered severe damage. Among these structures was one that ultimately underwent demolition due to the extensive destruction caused by the tremors.
Curiously, despite the building’s collapse, the shelves on its wall, bearing winter jars and tomato cans, remained untouched and prominently displayed. Notably, none of these jars, meant for consumption, fell to the ground.
Emrah Arslan, a local resident, emphasized the emotional impact on the community, acknowledging the stark contrast between the standing jars and the unfortunate fate of those who produced them.
