Passengers arriving in Erzincan aboard the Tourist Eastern Express visited the historic district of Kemaliye, a member of Türkiye’s Cittaslow (Slow Cities) network. Designated as Türkiye’s 21st Cittaslow town in 2022, Kemaliye attracted visitors with its preserved stone houses, historic streets, and natural scenery. Travelers, many from İzmir, said they were impressed by the district’s calm atmosphere and cultural heritage. Local officials said the Tourist Eastern Express has significantly boosted Kemaliye’s visibility and visitor numbers, supporting sustainable regional tourism.
