Ebeko Volcano Erupts in Russia’s Sakhalin Region

The Ebeko Volcano in Russia’s Sakhalin region has erupted, ejecting ash and smoke three kilometers high and spreading five kilometers to the northeast. According to the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, the ash did not reach residential areas, and there is no current threat to civilians. The volcano, which reactivated last year, had its most recent eruption before this one on July 13.
