The Egyptian administration began to set up a buffer zone in Sinai, next to the Gaza Strip, to allow Palestinians to migrate in case Israel launches a land operation in Rafah. The area, which US media say can accommodate 100,000 people, is surrounded by 7-meter walls. The preparations, which started on February 12, are expected to be completed within 10 days.
