Eight kilometer truck queue at ipsala border gate between greece and turkey

Trucks waiting to leave the country at Edirne’s İpsala Border Gate between Turkey and Greece formed an 8-kilometer queue. Immigrants were caught in the truck they were getting on illegally. Truck driver Necmi Barka, speaking to the IHA reporter, said that he was carrying a load to Thessaloniki, Greece, that he got in line in the morning and did not know when his turn would come. “Refugees get under the trucks, they get stuck and die here. They cut the customs seal at night. Authorities need to find a solution to this problem. There is only one platform working in the customs area,” Barka said. The truck drivers have called for a solution to the customs queues from the International Transporters Association and the authorities that they do not have safety of life and property.
