Electric scooters banned in Paris

Scooters were banned as a result of the referendum held yesterday to prohibit electric scooters rented by three different private companies in Paris, the capital of France. In the referendum, in which only 7.5 percent of the people of Paris participated, the percentage of voters who went along with the banning decision was 89.03 percent.

Stating that approximately 103,084 people voted, Mayor Anne Hidalgo said that Parisians expressed their opposition to the use of electric scooters and that they will abide by their decision.
