Electricity Company Cuts off Ghanaian Parliament’s Power due to Debt

The Electricity Company of Ghana cut off electricity to Ghana’s parliaments due to a 1.8 million dollars of debt during an ongoing meeting. Some members of parliament immediately started shouting slogans, while a couple of people were stuck in the building’s elevator. The building was provided electricity with the generator.

The electricity company said that they powered the building after a commitment was made that the debt would be paid within a week.
