A child at a restaurant faced a life-threatening situation when food got stuck in his windpipe in Türkiye’s Karabük. Quick to act, restaurant employee Ferdi Kanış, aged 40, stepped in and skillfully used the Heimlich Maneuver to save the child. Kanış shared the details, mentioning how the child’s panicked mother urgently sought help. After performing the Heimlich Maneuver and ensuring the child’s well-being, Kanış also helped calm the distressed pregnant mother. He attributed his effective response to first aid training provided by the restaurant owner.
