Endangered angel shark gives birth on boat

Serhat Şahbaz and his friends, who have been amateur fishermen in Çanakkale, Türkiye, for approximately ten years, sailed to the Dardanelles a week ago in a 9-meter boat called ‘Eyla’ to catch dentex and coral. An angel shark, an endangered species, approximately 1.5 meters long and weighing 40 kilos, was encountered off the coast of Nara. Upon attempting to return the shark to the sea, they noticed that the shark had given birth. The fishermen used their smartphones to capture footage of the shark giving birth to 7 baby sharks on the boat. Later, the amateur fishermen released the baby sharks and the mother shark back into the sea.
