Endangered Mediterranean seal seen in Mersin

Mediterranean seals have begun to appear along the Mediterranean coasts as the temperature rises. One of them showed up in a fishermen’s shelter in the Erdemli district of Mersin, Türkiye. More than a 2-meter-long seal came to the shelter in the morning hours. The seal first sunbathed in the center of the sea among the boats, then dived under the boats and rested in the shade. Fishermen said that the same seal comes to their shelter every year and they feed it.

Furthermore, endangered seals are estimated to number around 1000 all across the world, with approximately 100 on the Turkish coast.
