An endangered Near Eastern fire salamander was seen in the Eğil district of Diyarbakır province in Türkiye. The habitats of Salamandra infraimmaculata are known to include Iran, Iraq, Israel, Lebanon, Syria, and Türkiye. They generally live in moist habitats such as hilly and mountainous areas with trees and woodland. They are a harmless species that hide under wet soil, stones, and tree bark.
