Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held a meeting at the Turkevi in the US city of New York, where they attended the 79th United Nations General Assembly. The two discussed bilateral relations between their countries, the course of the Ukraine-Russia war, peace efforts, and regional and global issues.
During the meeting, President Erdoğan stated that Türkiye is ready to take all kinds of facilitating steps, including mediation, for a just and lasting peace between Ukraine and Russia, and that efforts will continue to revive the Black Sea Grain Initiative and ensure a ceasefire that can open the door to peace between the two countries.
