Erdoğan Condemns Gaza Massacre and UN’s Failure to Protect

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s address at the 39th Ministerial Meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Economic and Commercial Cooperation Standing Committee (COMCEC) included strong remarks regarding Israeli actions in Gaza.

Erdoğan condemned the situation, stating, “Netanyahu, beyond being a war criminal, will definitely be tried as the butcher of Gaza, just like Milosevic was tried.” He highlighted the UN’s failure to safeguard its employees from Israel’s actions, emphasizing the severity of the situation in Gaza. “In these days of immense brutality in the occupied Palestinian territories, particularly in Gaza, our collective cooperation becomes crucial,” he remarked.

Erdoğan emphasized the gravity of the situation, citing the staggering toll of over 16,000 martyrs and more than 36,000 injured in Israeli attacks targeting civilians and settlements. He expressed condolences for the victims and wished a swift recovery for the wounded. Notably, he underscored that two out of every three casualties in Gaza were children, infants, or women, with over 6,500 Gazans unheard from. Additionally, he highlighted the distressing statistics of 73 journalists and over 100 UN officials among the victims of Israeli persecution.
