Speaking at the European Parliament, the EU Council President said the bloc has the power and means to protect its members, citizens, and companies. “We cannot accept the law of the strongest prevailing over the rights of the weakest,” Costa said. He stressed that international law is not optional and alliances cannot be treated as mere transactions.
