EU, Germany, Spain Condemn Israel’s E1 Settlement Plan

The European Union, Germany, and Spain condemned Israel’s decision to advance the “E1” settlement project in East Jerusalem, calling it a violation of international law. EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas warned the plan, which includes 3,401 housing units, would undermine a two-state solution by splitting the West Bank and cutting East Jerusalem off from Palestinian territories. Germany’s Foreign Ministry urged Israel to halt settlement expansion, citing UN Security Council resolutions, while Spain’s Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares called the move “another violation of international law” that fuels settler violence and threatens peace efforts.
