EU Leaders Address Israel-Palestine Tensions in Virtual Summit

EU leaders conducted a virtual summit to discuss their approach to the Israel-Palestine situation, aiming to coordinate their policies amidst internal disagreements. EU Council President Charles Michel emphasized the importance of unity.

At a subsequent press conference with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, Michel announced that EU diplomats would monitor the Israel-Palestine situation continuously, and discussions included humanitarian aid coordination with the UN.

Michel also addressed the recent Gaza hospital airstrike, highlighting the humanitarian crisis and calling for the unconditional release of Hamas-held hostages, a move supported by the EU.
