EU Promises to Fund Ukraine Despite Hungary’s Veto

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, EU Council President Charles Michel and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez held a press conference after the EU Council Summit held yesterday in Brussels, the capital of Belgium. Referring to Hungary’s vetoing of the 50 billion euro aid package to Ukraine, Von der Leyen said, “No matter what happens at the next summit, we will have a ready solution.” The decisions taken at the summit were an investment in the security and prosperity of the European continent, said the Commission President.

Meanwhile, Michel repeated that Israel’s right to self-defense should be carried out in accordance with international law after some EU members said that Israel should be condemned due to the increasing attacks in the West Bank.
